How to Protect Your Patio from Wet Weather
How to Protect Your Patio from Wet Weather
As wet and cold weather persists across the UK and forecasts don’t predict a change anytime soon, your attention should turn to shielding outdoor surfaces. In poor weather conditions, outdoor surfaces are exposed to rain and low temperatures. Continue reading to learn how to protect your patio from rain and cold weather.
How Does Wet Weather Affect Stone Patios
Outdoor stone surfaces are left vulnerable to the effects of wet and cold weather. Constant rain and long-lasting cold eventually wear down and damage your stone surfaces. On top of this, rain penetrates pores within the material only to freeze will freeze and thaw, loosening the bonding of the material. Due to this, cracks and gaps form.
What you need
You need Faber Deep Protector. This is a solvent-based impregnating solution that fills any holes and pores in stone materials preventing these exposed areas from being worn down and becoming riddled with cracks. It even decreases the amplified effects frost has on stone patios.
How to Protect Your Patio from Wet Weather
1. Apply a Faber Deep Protector
Apply a thick layer of Faber Deep Protector evenly to the entire area using a paintbrush or flat mop. Be sure to distribute a continuous amount of the solution quickly and evenly.
2. Get rid of any excess
This waterproof impregnating sealer quickly dries due to its penetrating capabilities. Do not leave any buildup on the surface.
3. Apply a second coat
When treating highly absorbent materials, apply another layer 1 hour after the initial application following the previous steps.
How Faber Deep Protector defends your patio from rain
Filling Pores and Gaps -
As an impregnating treatment, Faber Deep Protector penetrates deep into surfaces and fills any pores and gaps in the material. By filling the pores in the material, Deep Protector prevents liquids from entering the surface and permanently ruining or damaging them.
Additionally, as the name suggests, it excels in deep-down penetration and is able to go deeper than its competitors in the market. As a result of its deep penetration, this water-repellent treatment ensures durable and long-lasting protection.
This impregnating treatment maintains the bonds of stone materials, stopping further cracks and gaps from forming on the surface. Additionally, this reduces the risk of water entering the material in the future.
Provide anti-absorbing properties -
Due to its deep-down penetration, Faber Deep Protector gives surfaces anti-absorbing properties. This is especially useful for water-absorbent surfaces that would otherwise be left vulnerable to wet weather.
Anti-absorbing properties and water repellency protect exterior surfaces from rain and all problems linked to the absorption of rising humidity.
These problems include:
- Mold
- Salt Efflorescence
- Humidity Stains
- Superficial Detachments
- Grout Stains
Faber Deep Protector is outstanding for its ability to protect surfaces from deep within the material. As a result of this characteristic, this water-repellent impregnator is perfect to protect tiled cracked surfaces. Without Deep Protector, these surfaces fall victim to infiltration issues.
Maintain your surface's original appearance -
What is more, while offering materials protection from moisture and rain, Deep Protector doesn’t affect the original appearance or shade of surfaces. In fact, this deep down impregnator is completely invisible.
Furthermore, this impregnator doesn’t even create a superficial film because its penetrating abilities allow surfaces to easily absorb into materials. As such, surfaces maintain their breathability even after treatment from this impregnator.
Deep Protector also ensures the preservation of your surface’s appearance because it is resistant to UV and bad weather conditions. This further highlights this impregnator’s readiness for wet and cold weather. Even after many years, it won’t leave yellow stains.
Make daily maintenance easier -
Faber Deep Protector makes traditional cleaning and maintenance much easier. This is a result of its ability to prevent surfaces from storing dirt. Typically, dirt is so hard to clean because it is embedded into surfaces. But, Deep Protector stops this by filling up any gaps where dirt could infest.
In addition, this solvent-based impregnator is appropriate to use as a water-repellent base before the application of superficial stain-proof treatments.
Protect a range of stone materials from wet weather
Faber Deep Protector is ready to use on various materials and surfaces, including water-absorbent materials.
Suitable for Use On:
- Marble
- Granite
- Concrete
- Cotto
- Ceramic
- Porcelain Ceramic
- Clinker
Additionally, this water-repellent impregnator is suitable for both indoor and outdoor surfaces.
