LTP Power Stripper | Why Should You Strip Your Surface?

Have you ever wondered why people talk about stripping their surface and what that even means? LTP Power Stripper may help you understand and make it look effortless.

In this blog, we will tell you the importance of stripping your surface, why you should do it and how to get started.

WHY SHOULD YOU STRIP YOUR SURFACE?

If your aim is to bring your floor back to life, then it’s important to strip your surface of wax completely and then re-wax them for them to hit their full potential.

Over time, the wax on your floors will gradually wear down from traffic on the surface.

You might not necessarily notice it at first, but it will leave your surface vulnerable to scratching.

Non-treated surfaces can actually scratch fairly easily, and if they do, you will need to repair them before re-treating wax again.

However, rather than doing this, a good habit of getting into will be stripping and re-treating the surface prior to wearing it down.

If they are left unprotected, tiles can be damaged by water and other forms of debris working their way down into the cracks between the tiles.

Water can actually force its way beneath the tiles and cause, which will then pull the surface up away from its original placement.

This can, consequently, damage the surface and force you to replace the surface altogether.

Outside of looking dull, the surface can also begin to discolour when it doesn’t have the proper protection needed.

Dirt and debris can get down into the surface and cause staining to take place.

LTP Power Stripper will need to be diluted following the official dilution guide.

THE APPLICATION OF LTP POWER STRIPPER

First of all, sweep or dry mop the floor to remove any grit or surface dirt.

Make sure to mix the solution according to the required dilution.

Whilst working in manageable sized areas, begin to mop on LTP Power Stripper to thoroughly wet the floor.

Then leave for 5-10 minutes, keeping the floor damp with the further solution should it begin to absorb.

After, begin to agitate the surface using a mildly abrasive pad.

If the floor rejects the stripper, a machine scrub with a stripping pad will be necessary

Remove resulting dirty residue using clean warm water and absorbent cloths.

Then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before applying further treatments.

This process may need to be repeated a couple of times on severely contaminated surfaces.

COVERAGE AND DILUTION GUIDE

When diluted, LTP Power Stripper must be mixed in warm water.

When cleaning the surface, a 1:12 ratio of solution will cover 60 square metres per litre.

For deeper stripping, a dilution of a 1:6 ratio will cover 30 square metres per litre.

In extreme cases, a 1:4 ratio of stripper will cover 15 square metres per litre.
