The Lavina Carbide Scrappers allow users to quickly and easily remove thick topical coatings and glues from stone floor surfaces. These tools are effective in getting rid of rubbery mastics and elastomeric coatings.
Even the bush hammers or other metal tools cannot remove these substances because they will gum up and smear. As such, the carbide scrappers are the best choice for these jobs.
Furthermore, heavy-duty carbide scrappers don’t damage concrete underneath the substance and are ideal for removing glue before polishing floors.
The Lavina Carbide Scrappers are direction-specific tools and come in 2 different styles. It is important to check the head’s rotation direction prior to ordering. Use the black concrete scrapper for heads with right rotation such as the eletric Lavina machines except for the 32” elte. For heads with a left rotation such as propane Lavina machines and 32” electric electric, use the blue tools.
Each Lavina scrapper has a tungsten carbide blade with four work surfaces.
After use of the tungsten scrappers and removing any glue, continue with 30 or 50 grit metals on the surface.
We recommend using these coating removal tools with 550-650 rpm electric machines or 1800-2100 rpm propane machines.
