LTP Boiled Linseed Oil Traditional Pre-Polish Impregnating Sealer for Terracotta
LTP Boiled Linseed Oil Coverage:
- Medium Porosity Terracotta: 1-2 litres per 10m2
- Higher Porosity Terracotta: 3-4 litres per 10m2
LTP Boiled Linseed Oil is a rich oil that excels in protecting and enhancing either hand-made or machine-made terracotta surfaces. This golden-colour sealer fills holes and pores found on terracotta floors before hardening to prevent the absorption of grime and liquids. Typically, these ingrained substances are tough to get rid of and damage your surfaces if left untreated. As such, it is important to prevent this from happening.
LTP Boiled Linseed Oil provides strong mechanical strength to low-fire hand-made terracotta.
Before using this stone tile sealer, conduct a test to discover the necessary number of coats for complete saturation.
LTP Boiled Linseed Oil Application Method:
- Apply by brush, a coat at a time until the tiles are saturated
- Allow at least 12 hours between each coat to ensure that the oil thoroughly oxidises. Most Terracotta will take one or two coats to reach saturation, while others, particularly some of hand-made terracotta, may take as many as four or five coats.
- Leave the final coat to dry for at least 24 hours before polishing with LTP Clear Wax or Antique Wax or finishing with LTP Ironwax Gloss or Satin.
