How to Protect Outdoor Surfaces from Wet Weather
Protect Exterior Surfaces from Wet Weather - Concrete, Slate and Terracotta
Throughout the winter months, outside stone surfaces are left vulnerable to the effects of wet and cold weather. Constant rain and long-lasting cold eventually damage your stone surfaces. Rain that has penetrated the material will freeze and thaw, loosening the bonding of the material. Due to this, cracks and gaps form. In this article, you'll learn how to protect surfaces from wet weather today and avoid the consequences of water damage and freezing.

Protect surfaces from wet weather with Faber P147
Faber P147 is a solvent-based, colour-enhancing impregnator. This stone impregnator enhances the colour and tone of even the most absorbent surfaces, as well as adds a matt finish. Although, it does so without creating a surface film.
Instead of altering the appearance of your surfaces, this colour intensifier brings out the characteristic veining of your surfaces.
Surfaces treated with this stone colour enhancer are also left with a wet look finish.
Faber P147 provides stone surfaces with both hydro-repellency and oleo-repellency. This makes surfaces waterproof and oil resistant.
How to protect surfaces from wet weather with Faber P147
1. Apply Faber P147
Apply a generous amount of this colour-enhancing impregnator to a clean surface, ensuring an even layer covers the entire surface.
2. Re-distribute the solution
Before the solution is completely absorbed, re-distribute the excess of impregnator with the same tool used during its application. Do this step around 5 -10 minutes after applying P147.
3. Apply a second coat
In the event that the solution is completely absorbed into the surface leaving no residues, apply a second coat of the colour enhancer about 2-3 hours later.
This should only be necessary on especially absorbent materials.
4. Remove all residues
If any excess remains after re-distributing the solution and leaving it for a while, proceed to remove all residues.
Excess remains on particularly less absorbent and compact materials.
Afterwards
After treatment, this water-repellent impregnator will dry within 1-2 hours of its initial application.
Although, you should wait between 4-6 hours before opening the surface up to traffic.
Why you need Faber P147 to protect stone from wet weather
Unlike alternative wet-look colour enhancers on the market, Faber P147 penetrates deep into a surface allowing it to effectively defend your surfaces from rain and cold weather.
Additionally, its application is incredibly easy without the risk of uneven aesthetic finishes. This is further exemplified by the lack of surface film after treatment.
As a result of these qualities, this colour enhancer is ideal to shield outdoors or on surfaces that face constant water.
This matt finish colour enhancer provides surfaces with long-lasting effects; these effects withstand UV rays, high traffic and the elements.
Furthermore, surfaces treated with P147 will not yellow after exposure to sunlight.
