Tile Cleaner Grout Application DIY at Home or Garage

You will need (one of the following):
- Mop
- Cloth
- Single-disc Machine w/ brush or pad

Dilute this floor-cleaner liquid before use. Dilute the product with clean water. Mix 1 part Faber Tile Cleaner with 2 or 3 parts water. This will vary depending on the amount of residue present on the surface. 

Although, when being used to remove surface patina, the product doesn’t need to be diluted.

- Wait 10 - 20 minutes for the solution to act
- Wipe over the surface with the same tool
- Remove all residue
- Rinse the floor with a lot of water

- Wipe away any dust and residue with a clean and dry microfibre cloth

This product is better suited to be manually applied over small, indoor surfaces. There is no need to rinse surfaces after treatment. 

Single-disc Machine Application

The other method that can be used to apply Faber Soap is the single-disc machine application. 

In contrast to the manual application, the single-disc machine application requires a single-disc machine and a white pad.

- Dilute 2 to 3 caps of the solution with 5 litres of water
- Clean the surface in sections, treating each section equally for up to 15 seconds
- Do not allow the solution to dry during the cleaning process
- Remove any residue with a wet-vacuum
- If the solution has dried during the process use a clean and dry white pad to brush it away

Within the tank of the machine, you can dilute the Faber Soap. 

The single-disc machine application is more suited to large outdoor areas. Similarly to the manual application, there is no need to rinse surfaces after treatment.

How to protect stone surfaces from staining with Faber Protex 

1. Apply Faber Protex Stone Impregnator

Apply Faber Protex ensuring an even, thin coat covers the entire surface. Do this using a tool of your choice.

2. Allow the Stone Sealer to act

Allow this water-proofing impregnator time to act. Waiting will not last long because Faber Protex is a fast-acting stone impregnator. 

3. Remove any residues

Wipe away any resulting residues using a clean, dry cloth. 

Fortunately, Faber Protex is fast-drying and doesn’t typically produce residues. In the case of use on non-absorbent, compact surfaces, this hard floor impregnator leaves slight residues behind. 

4. Apply a second coat of Faber Protex

For especially absorbent surfaces, we advise applying another coat of this water-repellent stain protector. Do this 45 minutes after the first coat. 

After protecting stone surfaces

As previously mentioned, this near-water-proof impregnator is a fast-drying product. In fact, it dries within 45 minutes of application. 

However, it is recommended you wait 2 - 3 hours before using newly treated surfaces. 

Protect stone surfaces and keep them clean

For the impregnation of natural stone surfaces, Protex is more than enough. 

Although, for the purpose of routine surface cleaning after treatment with Protex, using Faber Neugel or Faber Algafloor is advised.

Additionally, for specific cleaning, using Faber 30 or Faber Deterfug is recommended according to the type of stone being treated.
