Professional Sealing with Faber Limestone Densifier
Faber Limestone Densifier:
Professional Impregnating and Hardening Sealer
New limestone surfaces become damaged, worn down and stained when not properly protected. To prevent this, you need the right impregnating sealer. If not sealed, high levels of traffic will damage surfaces from the outside and liquid and dirt will damage surfaces from within. For lime-based surfaces, there is no better sealer than Faber Limestone Densifier.
For the best advice for surface restoration and cleaning products and instructions, visit the Tiling Logistics blog. On our blog, we have an article explaining how to harden limestone surfaces with Faber Limestone Densifier.
Our team of experienced professionals has produced a series of articles explaining everything you need to know for various surface care and maintenance treatments. Speak to a member of our team directly by giving us a call at 0121 773 9129 or send us an online message.
Why do you need to seal limestone surfaces?
Limestone is a sedimentary rock that is mostly composed of calcium carbonate.
All stone surfaces are porous which means these surfaces have small gaps that liquid and air can pass through.
While porous surfaces have great levels of breathability, they are also susceptible to staining when liquids enter their small interstices.
Sealing limestone and other natural stone surfaces protect them from staining and water damage.
Why Faber Limestone Densifier?
Faber Limestone Densifier is a water-repellent-impregnating sealer that can perform well at a professional level.
Faber has developed this sealer to achieve top-quality results.
Unlike its competitors, this limestone sealer deeply penetrates surfaces ensuring durable and long-lasting protection.
It defends against rising damp; this is the most common cause of problems with limestone. In fact, after treatment from this limestone sealer, surfaces have damp proof attributes.
These problems include:
- Persistent damps marks
- Rusting
- Flaking and Pop-ups
- Saline Efflorescence
What is more, Limestone Densifier does not affect the breathability of the surface because a film isn't formed during the application process.

As such, it doesn’t alter the appearance of surfaces.
Dirt and Stain Resistance
This limestone hardener increases lime-based materials’ resistance to dirt, liquid damage and high traffic.
As well as protecting surfaces from staining, this limestone sealer makes routine maintenance much easier.
What makes Faber Limestone Densifier unique?
Save Time on Future Polishing
Faber Limestone Densifier drastically decreases the time spent and difficulty of any mechanical sanding and polishing process on lime-based surfaces.
Typically, these materials are more difficult to polish as they are porous and have a high capacity to absorb water but Limestone Densifier greatly reduces this.
With Limestone Densifier It is possible to give a matt, dirt-resistant finish to limestone surfaces that are generally very difficult to reach with traditional treatments.
Eco-friendly
This limestone impregnator is distinct as it has a 100% water-based and eco-friendly formula.
Furthermore, there is a lack of volatile organic compounds (V.O.C free) in this sealer. As a result, using Limestone Densifier has no harmful effects on the environment or the health of the user.
This water-repellent sealer can tolerate the action of dewaxing products.
What surfaces are Faber Limestone Densifier suitable for?
As the name suggests, this hardening sealer is suitable for limestone and lime-based surfaces.
On one hand, this limits the usability of the Limestone Densifier. However, this ensures the use of this sealer achieves the best results.
In addition, this water-repellent sealer is certified for food use making it suitable for use on kitchen counters and worktops.

Afterwards
After treatment, this water-repellent limestone hardening sealer will dry within 24 hours.
Is Faber Limestone Densifier enough?
For the impregnation and hardening of lime-based surfaces, Faber Limestone Densifier is enough.
Although, for routine cleaning of surfaces treated with this limestone sealer, the use of Faber Neugel, Faber Algafloor or Faber 30 is advised.
Additionally, to polish a surface treated with this impregnating sealer, we recommend Faber A3 Yellow or Faber A2 Mix.
It is also recommended that you use Faber Hidro 150 or Faber B1 700 to increase the stain-proof protection of surfaces.
